The Anti-Vehicle MANA Turret is a deployable ability available to the Engineer. It is unlocked as an ability through purchase with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash, with its certification unlocked and upgraded using Certification Points.

The Anti-Vehicle Manned Aggressor Neutralizing Assault Turret is a deployed, manned turret that grants the engineer an emplacement from which they can threaten vehicles out to moderately long ranges with a laser-guided missile. Unlike the Anti-Infantry MANA Turret, this turret is entirely unshielded, leaving the engineer vulnerable to fire from all angles while they are using the turret.

The turret's missiles are laser-guided, and will follow the turret's crosshair to the best of their ability while the turret is manned. Missiles fired by the turret have a lifespan of 3.2 seconds, giving them an effective maximum range of 304 meters. If the engineer stops manning the turret, the missile will fly in the direction it was last commanded to, and will be immediately subject to harsh gravity.

Heat[]

Main article: Weapon Mechanics#Heat

The Anti-Vehicle MANA Turret uses a heat-based ammo pool, in contrast to the standard magazine-based ammo system most infantry weapons use. Heat provides a meter that fills upon the turret is fired, and dissipates when idle.

The turret has a heat capacity of 800, generates 800 heat per shot, and has a recovery delay of 1 second. It dissipates 160 heat per second, and incurs an overheat penalty of 1 second.

As the turret generates enough heat to instantly overheat itself with just one shot, it always incurs the combined two second penalty. The rate at which the turret dissipates heat is improved with higher ranks of the abilities' certification.

History[]

{{Hide/Start}

  • April 16, 2014 Patch
    • Lifespan of AV MANA turret projectile has been reduced from 10 seconds to 4.75 seconds. This makes the maximum range of the MANA turret around 450 meters.
    • Both Engineer turret models have been slightly adjusted to have tighter collision.
  • January 12, 2017 Hotfix
    • Projectile lifespan from 4.75sec. to 3.2sec.
    • Dev Note: This change effectively reduces the max range of the weapon from 450m to 300m, which is the range at which infantry most often render. As a vehicle player, it’s no fun getting hit by targets you can’t see, and the AV MANA Turret has frequently created issues to that end. Shortening up the impact of precision long-range AV weapons also helps foster the new infantry to vehicle interaction we’ll be moving toward in the coming days.
  • June 8, 2017 Update
    • The AV MANA Turret will now render more often at further ranges.
  • September 26, 2017 Update(D&UC)
    • Direct damage from 1335 to 700
    • Inner blast radius from 0.3 to 0.5 meters
    • Outer Blast Damage from 1 to 50
  • November 20, 2017 Update
    • Resistance from 23 (Air to Ground Warhead) to 34 (Infantry Rocket Launcher)
    • Dev Note: AV MANA Turret was somewhat left behind during the original CAI update. This resistance type adjustment bumps up the damage, bringing it closer to being in line with infantry rocket launchers, and creating a better trade-off for Engineers making use of the turret.
  • March 20, 2019_Update
    • Damage resistance type changed from Infantry Rocket Launchers (type 34) to Tank Shell (type 7)
    • Adjusted the explosion visuals to better match the blast radius of the weapon.
    • Dev Note: This change gives the AV MANA Turret some of its earlier bite back versus heavily armored ground vehicles, without modifying the time to kill too much elsewhere.
  • September 15, 2021 Update
    • Fixed projectile sizes that were smaller than the standard on the following weapons:
      • MANA Anti-Vehicle Turret (Engineer Deployable)
