Battle ranks are a progression system in Planetside, a way to display the player's total experience gain through rewards of titles, decals, Certification Points, and a higher battle rank and emblem.

Battle ranks are received by earning a set amount of Experience Points, the required amount increasing with each consecutive level.

A player can progress through up to 120 battle ranks, with the last 20 taking an exceptionally large amount of experience to progress through. Alternatively, at battle rank 100, players can enter the Advanced Specialization Program, which changes the rewards players receive for leveling and grants a unique emblem.

Titles and Emblems

For each battle rank between ranks 1 to 120, the player will receive a corresponding title.

Titles can be equipped on the My Character tab, above the character banner. Titles appear next to the characters name, such as "Scout [playername]". All players can see titles.

Alongside a title, players will additionally upgrade the emblem next to their battle rank with each rank.

Bonuses

Each battle rank between 1 and 100 also bestows a reward upon the player once they acquire that battle rank.

Upon reaching battle rank 15, the players next death will present them with a screen allowing them a one-time chance to refund all their purchases made using Certification Points.

Players at battle rank 15 or lower are also able to skip the faction balance queues for any given continent.

Advanced Specialization Program

Once a player has reached battle rank 100, they can opt to join the Advanced Specialization Program. This demands either a one-time fee of 10 000 , or Premium Membership.

Upon entering the program, the player is reset to battle rank 1, with a unique ASP emblem, and are also rewarded the "A.S.P Operative" title. ASP battle ranks have the same experience requirements as normal battle ranks. Players in the program can only reach a maximum of ASP battle rank 100, which rewards the "Advisory", "Myriad", "Chosen" or "Recursive" title, for New Conglomerate, Terran, Vanu or NSO players respectively.

After entering the program, players are immediately rewarded one A.S.P. Token, and earn additional tokens every 25 battle ranks. These tokens can be spent on perks such as permanently reduced nanite costs for vehicles, or access to weapon types on classes that could not previously equip them, such as Assault Rifles on an Engineer.

• May 19, 2015 Update
  • We felt the cert gain rate at low levels was too restrictive for new players trying to grow their characters. With this change, each battle rank achieved through BR 15 now provides 100 free certs to help new players get their characters rolling.
• January 14, 2016 Update
  • We’ve increased the XP Max Battle Rank increased to 120. The following titles and decals are awarded:
    • Destroyer @ BR101
    • Champion @ BR105
    • Conqueror @ BR110
    • Predator @ BR 115
    • Dreadnaught @ BR 120
• April 5, 2018 Update
  • The Advanced Specialization Program was added to the game.
• June 12, 2018 Update
  • Players at Battle Rank 15 and lower will no longer be subjected to continent or faction population queues.
• August 28, 2019 Update
  • Players now receive 100 certs at each new Battle Rank through BR100, instead of the first 15.
