The TRs' Bighorn .50M surpassed the RAMS as the heaviest sniper rifle in their arsenal. Boasting an unmatched bullet velocity and a straight-pull bolt for rapid shots, the deafening crack of the Bighorn is a warning to distant soldiers.
The Bighorn .50M is an 'auraxium' variant of the RAMS .50M, with a unique name and auraxium camo. It earns an 50 extra damage within its maximum damage range and does 500 damage within its minimum damage range (allowing a one hit headshot kill at all ranges), an extra 30m/s of muzzle velocity, 20 more ammo in reserve, and additionally comes with a Straight-pull Bolt built into the rifle. This comes at the cost of its built-in Compensator increasing the minimum hip cone-of-fire values by 0.5 degrees while standing and 0.25 while moving, being revealed on the minimap 50 meters further than the RAMS .50M (150 meters versus 100 meters), and a slower rechamber time.
The 6x magnified S3 comes standard on many Terran sniper rifles. Its moderate zoom level and mil-dot sighting makes it perfect for mid-to-long range combat.
The TR's Advanced Precision Scope 10x is responsible for record-setting long distance kills on Auraxis. It comes equipped with a standard mil-dot reticle.
The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position. The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
It is possible to earn both Ribbons and Medals while using the Bighorn .50M. Each ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the rifle. Medals are awarded upon reaching kill milestones with the weapon.
Anti-infantry sniper rifles now use a separate Sniper Rifles resistance (type 20).
Being struck by a sniper rifle now has more prominent audio.
Dev Note: The damage values for this new resistance are equivalent to small arms. This change will allow us to do is modify the bodyshot damage output from Nanoweave, as mentioned above.
Dev Note: Traditional Forward Grips offered no functional benefits to slow firing semi-auto weapons, so swapping them for Comfort Grips (which reduce the equip and unequip time of a weapon,) can be interpreted as a buff in almost all cases.
Minimum damage from 400 to 500.
Rechamber from 1.5sec. to 1.65sec.
Ammunition capacity from 40 to 60.
Dev Note: The changes here help fulfill the fantasy of the weapon being extremely powerful, and allow for one-shot headshots at any range.
