Extensive trial runs have been conducted with the experimental suit-linked target acquisition system mounted to this carbine. The first rollout was given to skilled Jump operatives with the goal of further enhancing accuracy while airborne.

The CB-ARX Newton is a carbine available to Nanite Systems Operatives. It is unlocked upon completion of the Master Carbines directive.

The CB-ARX Newton is an "auraxium" variant of the CB-100, although functions a fair bit differently to a normal weapon. The Newton boasts an incredibly tight minimum hip cone-of-fire values compared to other carbines, and retains this high accuracy even while mid-air, and it earns an extra round in its magazine as compared to the 100 model.

In exchange for the weapon's impressive hip characteristics, the Newton is unable to aim in the conventional sense—attempting to do so will only shrink the weapon's cone-of-fire and provide a small amount of zoom—indeed increasing the weapon's ranged accuracy significantly, though leaving it still less accurate at range than a typical carbine.

A flash suppressor makes the shooter less visible to the enemy, but increases the range at which you appear on enemy minimaps by 15 meters.

This shortened barrel reduces cone of fire bloom by 40% when firing from the hip, and increases vertical recoil by 20% while aiming down sights.

The weapon's muzzle flash and noise generation is reduced, and the player no longer appears on the minimap when firing. In exchange, the weapon's damage falls off 20 meters sooner and bullet velocity is reduced by 15%.

Darklight Flashlight

The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position.
The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
Impulse Launcher

Auto Granted
This underbarrel Impulse Launcher fires a non-lethal grenade that knocks back the user and enemy infantry on impact. Increases the equip time of the attached weapon by 0.25 seconds.
Pressing Gear Slot 1 hotkey will toggle the attachment.
Laser Sight

A laser sight increases the user's hipfire accuracy by 33%.
Smoke Launcher

Underbarrel smoke grenade launcher attachment; increases the equip time of the attached weapon by 0.25 seconds.
Pressing Gear Slot 1 hotkey will toggle the attachment.
Underbarrel Shotgun

A single-shot shotgun round attachment; increases the equip time of the attached weapon by 0.25 seconds.

Soft Point Ammunition increases the weapon's maximum damage range by 5 meters, but reduces its projectile velocity by 10%.

    • CB-ARX Newton now uses the correct field of view.
    • CB-ARX Newton no longer has a pulsing reticle while running with the weapon.
  • March 30, 2022 Update (The Arsenal Update)
    • Enabled attachment customization on all applicable directive reward weapons.
    • Directive weapons can now be used with the Advanced Specialization Program.
      • Dev Note: The changes above allow for customization of the weapons you've spent hundreds of hours working toward, and also factor into the subsequent balance adjustments that are made in each faction's weapon balance sections further down.
    • Now has access to the Underbarrel Impulse Grenade Launcher by default.
    • This weapon can now "aim" from the hip for increased accuracy, instead of firing when the aim button is held.
      • Dev Note: As with other directive carbines, a default Impulse launcher has been added for maneuverability.
