Deployment: Skylance Battery is a passive system certification for the Colossus. It is unlocked by default.

Deployment: Skylance Battery allows the Colossus to deploy, reconfiguring the Mammoth Cannon into the Skylance Cannon, projecting a cortium-powered bombardment shield around the vehicle, and revealing all hardpoints aboard Bastion Fleet Carriers within 1000 meters.

Any shots fired by the main cannon while the Colossus is deployed into Skylance Battery will apply a damage-over-time debuff to the tank, dealing up to 1000 damage per shot, and any damage received by the bombardment shield will drain an equal amount of cortium from the vehicle's stores, instead of damaging the Colossus itself.

Deploying the Colossus prevents the driver from activating the Mass Accelerator Drive utility ability, if applicable.

To deploy the vehicle, keep the vehicle still and then press the Deploy Vehicle hotkey (B by default). The vehicle cannot be deployed while inside a warpgate region, nor can it deploy near to deployed allied Colossi (though it can deploy near deployed hostile Colossi.)

Skylance Cannon[]

Main article: Mammoth Cannon#Skylance Cannon

When deployed, the Colossus' main cannon becomes the Skylance Cannon, a heavy anti-aircraft weapon capable of destroying empire specific fighters in one shot plus heavily damaging all other aircraft, heavily damaging Bastion Fleet Carrier hardpoints, and able to penetrate through vehicles to damage targets behind them, including penetrating the aforementioned carriers to damage otherwise unreachable hardpoints.

The vehicle receives up to 500 damage each time the Skylance Cannon is fired while deployed.

Bombardment Shield[]

The Bombardment Shield is a large faction-coloured shield projected outwards from the Colossus when it is deployed into a Skylance Battery.

The shield is one-way for friendlies, allowing allies to fire outwards but preventing any shots from passing through and directly hitting any forces inside. Allies can damage the shield by shooting it from the outside. The shield has takes 50% reduced damage from all sources, and can have this resistance further improved by the Bolstered Bombardment Shield defense slot module.

The shield does not share any of the Colossus' resistances, nor does is it have any interaction with the tank's directional armor. The Colossus is not counted as 'in-combat' after the bombardment shield receives damage for the purpose of modules and upgrades such as Nanite Auto Repair System.

All damage received by the bombardment shield drains energy from the Colossus' Cortium Storage. Firing the Skylance Cannon does not damage the bombardment shield. If the Colossus' cortium stores run empty, the bombardment shield disappears and is destabilized for 10 seconds, unable to be recreated for that time even if more cortium is deposited into the vehicle. The creation of a bombardment shield consumes 250 Cortium.

Certifications[]

Level Cost Description
1 Auto Granted Allows the Colossus to deploy, immobilizing it but changing its primary weapon configuration into a heavy anti-air skylance battery, as well as generating a bombardment shield around the Colossus that blocks incoming projectiles.

Skylance Configuration
Locks the primary turret to a higher elevation and fires a piercing beam intended to punch through Bastion Fleet Carrier hulls and hit weak points. This weapon overheats when fired and will cause up to 1000 damage to the Colossus.

Bombardment Shield
Fueled by cortium, the 15 meter radius bombardment shield protects the Colossus while it is deployed. When the shield takes damage it draws cortium from the Colossus. If the Colossus runs out of cortium the shield will drop. A friendly ANT may be required to replenish the cortium reserve.

Cannot Deploy in a warpgate region.
