Explosive Bolt is an ammo type.
While loaded, explosive bolts reduce the direct damage dealt by the weapon significantly by replacing the tip of the bolt with an explosive warhead that is instead capable of damaging heavy armor, with a small amount of splash damage to boot. The use of these bolts reduces the size of the weapon's magazine by one bolt, down to a total of three bolts per magazine.

The Hunter QCX has its damage values modified to the following value;
- 300 at All Ranges
The crossbow's direct damage resist type is also changed from 'small arms' to 'infantry rocket launchers'.
In exchange for this loss in damage, the crossbow also gains the following indirect damage statistics.
- 200 before ?? meters
- 90 at ?? meters
This indirect damage is dealt on the 'Common Explosive' resist type, and is the same no matter the range the bolt travels before contacting a surface.
