Hacking is a passive ability available to the Infiltrator. It is unlocked by default.
Hacking allows Infiltrators to take control of a number of stationary installations across Auraxis, converting them to his or her faction's allegiance. By walking up to an eligible emplacement, such as a terminal or Phalanx Turret, and then holding the Use key for a brief period, the Infiltrator will immediately convert the equipment to their own faction, available for immediate use.
While hacking, a UI element (right) will appear over the targeted equipment, as well as a progression circle. Once the circle is completed, the equipment will convert. The Infiltrator does not need to continue looking directly at the equipment once hacking has begun, but must stay in range.
Hacking is also available in a limited capacity for all classes on certain equipment, mainly the generators found in many bases as well as terminals for energy bridges, sunderer towers and the Tempest Siphon.
The speed at which an infiltrator is able to hack all equipment can be improved by the Advanced Equipment Terminal Hacking passive skill.
To hack a piece of equipment, walk very close to it and wait for the prompt to appear, and then hold your Use key (E by default) until the circle that appears is fully completed. You can also tap your Use key. You must stay in range for the entire duration, but can change your facing.
Usage[]
Infiltrator-specific Hacking can be used on the following equipment.
- Terminals
- Phalanx Turrets
- Spitfire Auto-Turrets
- Light Air Terminal (Construction)
- Light Vehicle Terminal (Construction)
All classes can hack the following equipment.
- Generators
- Energy Bridge Terminals
- Sunderer Towers Terminals
- Tempest Siphon terminal (only turn on as defender, only turn off as attacker)
No class can hack the following equipment.
- Colossus terminal (appears in Tech Plants)
Implants[]
The Infiltrator's hacking ability can be modified by the following implants.
Firewall[]
Firewall adds some extra abilities to the Infiltrator's hack. With this implant, Infiltrators can hack already friendly Phalanx Turrets and Spitfire Auto Turrets, increasing their maximum health by 25% and also forcing enemy infiltrators to hack the equipment twice should they wish to convert it to their own faction's allegiance.
Missions[]
- The Reconnaissance mission requires the player to hack 3 Terminals as an Infiltrator. Terminals hackable as any class will not count towards these, however hacking neutral terminals on offline bases (during Unstable Warpgates) will.
