Kinetic Armor is a suit slot enhancement available to the MAX. It is auto granted at rank 1, and is upgraded using Certification Points.

Kinetic Armor reduces damage taken from several damage types. These categories are as follows; Small Arms, Heavy Machine Guns, Gatling Guns, Anti-Aircraft Machine Guns and Aircraft Machine Guns, and Anti-Materiel Rifle. Each rank adds another category in turn to the bonus, starting with small arms at rank 1 and ending with anti-materiel rifles at rank 5.

Kinetic Armor will reduce all damage received from the relevant damage types, including from headshots, however it does not stack with any other damage resistance buffs and in these cases only the highest source of damage reduction will be used. For weapons that also deal splash damage, only any direct damage dealt will be resisted (unless the indirect damage is also of a resisted damage type).

1 Auto Granted Reduces damage taken from small arms by 20%.
2 200 Certification Points Reduces damage taken from small arms and heavy machine guns by 20%.
3 400 Certification Points Reduces damage taken from small arms, heavy machine guns, and gatling guns by 20%.
4 500 Certification Points Reduces damage taken from small arms, heavy machine guns, gatling guns, aircraft machine guns, and anti-aircraft machineguns by 20%.
5 1,000 Certification Points Reduces damage taken from small arms, heavy machine guns, gatling guns, aircraft machine guns, anti-aircraft machineguns and anti-materiel rifles by 20%.

October 19, 2017 Update

  • Rank 4 and Rank 5 now also reduce damage by resist type 22 (Walker) anti-aircraft machineguns by 20%.

September 26, 2017 Update (Critical Mass)

  • MAX’s Kinetic Armor and infantry’s Nanoweave Armor now reduce different resist types by 20%, based on rank, instead of increasing the amount of resistance with each rank. This change allows low ranks of the ability to be immediately competitive with higher ranks in most situations.
    • Rank 1: Reduces small arms damage by 20%.
    • Rank 2: Reduces small arms and heavy machine gun damage by 20%.
    • Rank 3: Reduces small arms, heavy machine gun, and gatling damage by 20%.
    • Rank 4: Reduces small arms, heavy machine gun, gatling, and soft-point machine guns, damage by 20%.
    • Rank 5: Reduces small arms, heavy machine gun, gatling, soft-point machine guns, and anti-materiel rifles by 20%.

  • C85 Canister: On Vehicle Shotgun resist type
    • MAX Kinetic armor protects against this damage type

Game Update Number 8

  • Improved MAX Kinetic Armor. Kinetic Armor now increases the default light projectile resist by 1.5% each tier.
    • Tier 1: 81.5%
    • Tier 2: 83%
    • Tier 3: 84.5%
    • Tier 4: 86%
    • Tier 5: 87.5%
