Manticore Ammunition is an ammo type.
While loaded, Manticore ammunition causes damage dealt by the weapon to apply a 20% slow to the target for two seconds. In exchange, the weapon's muzzle velocity is reduced by 40%.
Using this ammunition in combination with a Suppressor will stack both velocity penalties for a massive 55% reduction in muzzle velocity. For its namesake weapon, the combination of Manticore Ammunition and a suppressor brings projectile velocity down to a crawling 150 meters per second - equal in speed to a Hunter QCX bolt.
The NS-30 Tranquility innately produces the same effect on hit but does not suffer a velocity penalty.
