The Medical Applicator is a tool available to the Combat Medic. It is unlocked by default, and upgraded using Certification Points.
When used, a medical applicator can tether a beam to living allied non-MAX infantry or to the corpses of any allied non-MAX infantry within six meters, restoring their health or beginning a revive on the patient as appropriate. The potency and speed of all of the tool's effects are dependent on the rank of the tool.
The tether can only be connected at about six meters from the patient, however will stay attached within a slightly larger radius. Other than leaving the maximum range, the applicator will never be detached from an eligible patient so long as the medic holds the fire or aim keys—even if line-of-sight is broken—and the beam will automatically reconnect when possible so long as the appropriate key is not released.
The applicator cannot be used on a MAX or Defector at any time.
To use the applicator, look at an eligible patient then press and hold the Fire key ( by default) to begin healing the target, or press and hold the Aim key (
by default) to begin a revive.
Effects[]
When tethered to living non-MAX infantry, the applicator restores health at a rate of between 100 and 150 health per second, based on the applicator's rank. This effect cannot tether to MAX units at any time, and only restores health with no effect on shields. While the patient is damaged, the medic's crosshair is replaced with a circle representing the patient's health bar.
When tethered to allied non-MAX corpses, the applicator begins to revive the patient, with the rate dependent both on the rank of the applicator. The medic's crosshair will be replaced with a circle representing the progress of the revive, which will vanish once the revive completes. Infantry will revive at full health.
When attempting to revive a target, only the first medic to tether to the corpse will be able to revive the target—subsequent attempts to do so while the beam with priority is tethered will do nothing. However, Nanite Revive Grenades will always take precedent over a medic's revive unless the revive has already been completed.
The rate at which the applicator's effects are applied is not affected by external factors, such as the Nano-Regen Device or Nanite Healing Grenades, with the rank of the applicator providing the only improvements to the tool's effects. The applicator's health restoration will stack additively with any other similar effects on the target, such as that from Restoration Kits or another medic's applicator.

History[]
- The Medic tool functionality has been reverted to behave more like it did previously, once again able to maintain a link through walls and other collision; however,
- Upon completing a revive the tool will disconnect from the target, requiring the medic to reestablish line of sight to revive them again.
- Fixed the medical tool being interrupted by players and vehicles. Static collision like walls, roofs, and cover objects will still break line of sight.
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to revive through walls with the Revive tool.
