The Gauss SAW S was designed as a more versatile alternative of the iconic Gauss SAW. It boasts faster reloads and more controllability at cost to rate of fire and magazine size.
The NC6S Gauss Squad Automatic Weapon Select is a variant on the standard NC6 Gauss SAW. As compared to its parent weapon, the SAW S sacrifices rate-of-fire and base magazine size in exchange for increased controlability, a noticably faster reload speed, and an expanded attachment pool—with notable access to Extended Magazine that lets it exceed the standard variant's capacity by a good margin at the expense of occupying the rail attachment slot.
A compensator redirects gases upward, reducing vertical recoil by 30%, and increasing hipfire cone of fire by 15%. The added sound pressure causes the player to show on the minimap 35m farther away.
The weapon's muzzle flash and noise generation is reduced, and the player no longer appears on the minimap when firing. In exchange, the weapon's damage falls off 20 meters sooner and bullet velocity is reduced by 15%.
The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position. The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
High Velocity Ammunition increases the weapon's projectile velocity by 10% and minimum damage range by 20 meters, but reduces the weapon's maximum damage range by 2 meters.
It is possible to earn both Ribbons and Medals while using the NC6S Gauss SAW S. Each ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the machine gun. Medals are awarded upon reaching kill milestones with the weapon.
Hipfire walk/stand/move starting CoF values increased by 0.25 (on par with the NC6 Gauss SAW.)
Hipfire crouchwalk starting CoF increased by 0.5 (on par with the NC6 Gauss SAW.)
ADS walk/stand starting CoF from 0.03 to 0.00 (on par with the NC6 Gauss SAW.)
Projectile velocity from 630 to 580
Hipfire CoF bloom from 0.12 to 0.14
ADS CoF bloom from 0.06 to 0.07
Dev Note: With there being as many flavors of 167 damage model weapons in the NC arsenal as there are, these changes provide a second 200 damage model option for LMGs. The Gauss SAW S mainly takes a small hit to refire rate and mag size for a faster reload and slightly more controllability.
