The Nanite Systems - 61 Emissary is a pistol designed to serve more as a pseudo primary weapon. Much like common pool NS primary weapons, it places a premium on accuracy and good statistics over raw damage output.
The Emissary enjoys the second largest standard magazine capacity of a sidearm, tied with the T4 AMP and just short of the TS2 Inquisitor. It has very low recoil, a tight minimum cone-of-fire, and a gentle cone-of-fire bloom that lend themself well to keeping a sustained burst on target. It can also be reloaded faster than any other Nanite Systems sidearm.
As the only full-auto sidearms - excluding event weapons - the Emissary and T4 AMP are comparable only in that they both share that distinction. In a competition between the two, the AMP wins on both short and long reload speed, and has a better hypothetical time-to-kill at all ranges. This time-to-kill advantage becomes more and more hypothetical as range increases since the AMP has stronger recoil and a much wider cone of fire.
Many soldiers choose Nanite Systems' popular Illuminated Combat Optic series over stock iron sights for superior target acquisition in both close quarters and low-light situations. More reticles for this sight available, see full article.
A compensator redirects gases upward, reducing vertical recoil by 30%, and increasing hipfire cone of fire by 15%. The added sound pressure causes the player to show on the minimap 35m farther away.
The weapon's muzzle flash and noise generation is reduced, and the player no longer appears on the minimap when firing. In exchange, the weapon's damage falls off 20 meters sooner and bullet velocity is reduced by 15%.
The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position. The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
It is possible to earn both Ribbons and Medals while using the NS-61 Emissary. Each ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the pistol. Medals are awarded upon reaching kill milestones with the weapon.
A new pistol has taken its place among the popular Nanite Systems family of sidearms. The NS-61 Emissary is a fully automatic, high capacity pistol which retains accurate bullet placement out to mid-range. Originally designed as a versatile complement to the MAX killing potential of the NS-AM7 Archer, the Emissary allows users to move with confidence from one battlefield to the next.

Trivia[]
The NS-61 Emissary's design references that of the Škorpion vz. 61, a Czechoslovakian machine pistol. This can be seen most in the Emissary's use of an upward-folding wire stock, curved magazine that fits in front of the trigger, and rectangular upper receiver. The pistol's audio design takes references from both the Škorpion as well as another real machine pistol, the MAC-10.[1]
The Emissary was briefly known as the NS-93 during development because the early 3D model resembled the Beretta 93R machine pistol.[1]
The stock on this weapon is only deployed on the "Networked" variant, and may obscure peripheral vision around the sights somewhat if an optic is not mounted. There is no option to deploy or fold a stock on any variant of the Emissary. The extended stock on the Networked variant is a cosmetic effect only and has no effect on the weapon's handling.
