The NSX-A Kuwa is a hybrid rifle available to Nanite Systems Operatives. It is unlocked upon completion of the Master Assault Weapons directive.

The Nanite Systems Export - Auraxium Kuwa is an 'auraxium' variant of the NSX Yumi, sharing the same design philosophy. Though inheriting the same lengthy windup upon trigger pull, the Kuwa trades the rapid high damage bursts for a slightly less lethal but fully automatic torrent of bullets, with decreased potency at range.

The NSX-A Kuwa is currently the only hybrid rifle available to players, a unique assault rifle class that is additionally available to Engineers and Heavy Assaults by default, rather than solely locked to the use of Combat Medics.

Unlike 'auraxium' directive weapons available to the standard three factions, 'auraxium' weapons exclusive to Nanite Systems Operatives have full access to attachments.

Trivia

  • The NSX-A Kuwa is likely named after a Japanese weapon that is loosely based on a hoe—a kuwa. It could also be named after the mulberry plant, also referred to in Japanese as a kuwa (though which has a different kanji symbol).
