The NSX Fujin is a "grenade" available to all non-MAX infantry classes. It is available for completing the Expert NS Export Series Directive for all factions.
After completing the expert tier of the NSX Directive, the Fujin becomes available for all infantry classes as a grenade slot consumable. Unlike most other grenades, players carry a default of two Fujins, and gain twice the benefits from Grenade Bandolier, allowing players to hold up to eight Fujin knives. The NSX Fujin is capable of killing standard infantry in one hit to the head out to 20 meters, requiring at least one follow-up hit after that point.
The throwing delay is about half a second, and can be thrown with perfect accuracy in any movement state except for sprinting. Unlike most other Consumables, the Fujin may be used underwater with a slightly reduced throwing velocity.
Fujin throwing knives are best used as a source of instantaneous damage against a single target at close range, such as when the chamber time of a bolt action or pump action weapon would take longer than the throwing delay. Doing so immediately after firing a bolt or pump action will delay the cycling animation of that weapon until the throwing animation completes. It is also good as an opening move in close-range fights when paired with a weapon that has a fast equipping animation.
The NSX Fujin is a high risk weapon that rewards precision.
To throw an NSX Fujin, press the Use Grenade hotkey (G by default). Your character will throw it using their right arm after a very short animation.

Trivia[]
- It is possible to estimate a NSX Fujin's trajectory using a 6x scope's mil-dots. Each dot corresponds to an aiming point in ten meter increments on scopes with circular overlays, and 15 meter increments on scopes with rectangular overlays. The absolute maximum range of the Fujin is 210 meters with a 3 second flight time.
- On a 6x scope of either type, the maximum range is generally where an infantry target becomes obscured by the bottom of the scope overlay itself on a 1920x1080 full-screen display with default field-of-view settings.
- A VR Training Facility party trick: Equip the Fujin and a weapon with a 6x scope at the equipment terminal across from the main facility's spawn tubes on the upper level. Sight down on the Vanu Sovereignty infantry dummy standing in between a Colossus and a Galaxy to the south-southeast as described above. The compass at the top of the HUD will read approximately 121- 123 degrees. Take a few steps forward to make sure the target is in range. Throw. You will have enough time to enter the 6x scope view again and watch the Fujin's faint tracer in flight.
- The above party trick should give you an idea of how practical the Fujin is at extended ranges - which is to say, not very practical at all.
- The Fujin is named after the Shinto god of wind, also known as Futen. Like many wind gods from regions along the Silk Road, he is depicted as holding the wind in a bag across his shoulders.
- Fujin is commonly depicted alongside his brother Raijin, the Shinto god of storms and lighting.

Notes[]
- Though the December 22, 2016 Hotfix states the NSX Fujin's Headshot multiplier was increased to 2.2x, it was actually only increased to 2.0x.
