Note: Was available to NSO upon completion of the Master Assault Weapons directive, pre _Integration update.

The NSX Kuwa is a hybrid rifle produced by Nanite Systems, available to all factions. It is unlocked through purchase with A7 from the Black Market aboard Sanctuary.

The Nanite Systems Export Kuwa is a variant of the NSX Yumi, sharing the same design philosophy. Though inheriting the same lengthy windup upon trigger pull, the Kuwa trades the rapid high damage bursts for a slightly less lethal but fully automatic torrent of bullets, with decreased potency at range.

The NSX Kuwa is currently the only hybrid rifle available to players, a unique assault rifle class that is additionally available to Engineers and Heavy Assaults by default, rather than solely locked to the use of Combat Medics.

Attachments[]

NSX Kuwa: Unlike most weaponry purchased with A7, the NSX Kuwa's attachments are purchased with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash like regular guns.

Attachments
Optic
CCLR (1x)

49 OR 30
The Combat Clarity reflex sight allows for quick target acquisition with a lighter housing than earlier generation Nanite Systems reflex optics.
NiCO (1x)

49 OR 30
The Illuminated Combat Optic line of gunsights from Nanite Systems are praised for their ability to quickly acquire targets in close quarters combat situations.
More reticles for this scope available, see full article.
NiCO XR (2x)

49 OR 30
Many soldiers choose Nanite Systems' popular Illuminated Combat Optic series over stock iron sights for superior target acquisition in both close quarters and low-light situations.
More reticles for this sight available, see full article.
ACRA (3.4x)

49 OR 30
Nanite Systems' refined ACRA 3.4x zoom optic provides the user with better clarity on mid-range targets.
LANS (3.4x)

49 OR 30
Nanite Systems' laser-assisted gunsight is perfect for situations that need a little more range than a standard reflex scope. The LANS uses a simple red dot reticule with 3.4x magnification.
Barrel
Compensator

49 OR 100
A compensator redirects gases upward, reducing vertical recoil by 30%, and increasing hipfire cone of fire by 15%. The added sound pressure causes the player to show on the minimap 35m farther away.
Flash Suppressor

49 OR 100
A flash suppressor makes the shooter less visible to the enemy, but increases the range at which you appear on enemy minimaps by 15 meters.
Rail
Darklight Flashlight

49 OR 100
The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position.
The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
Extended Magazine

49 OR 100
Increases the amount of ammunition in each magazine by 5 rounds, and the weapon takes 15% longer to equip and unequip.
Forward Grip

49 OR 100
A forward grip increases control of the weapon, reducing horizontal recoil by 25%, but increases equip time by 0.15 sec.
Grenade Launcher

99 OR 200
A single-shot grenade launcher attachment; increases the equip time of the attached weapon by 0.25 seconds.
Pressing Gear Slot 1 hotkey will toggle the attachment.
Smoke Launcher

49 OR 100
Underbarrel smoke grenade launcher attachment; increases the equip time of the attached weapon by 0.25 seconds.
Pressing Gear Slot 1 hotkey will toggle the attachment.
Ammo
High Velocity Ammunition

49 OR 100
High Velocity Ammunition increases the weapon's projectile velocity by 10% and minimum damage range by 20 meters, but reduces the weapon's maximum damage range by 2 meters.
Soft Point Ammunition

49 OR 100
Soft Point Ammunition increases the weapon's maximum damage range by 5 meters, but reduces its projectile velocity by 10%.

Trivia[]

  • The NSX Kuwa is likely named after a Japanese weapon that is loosely based on a hoe—a kuwa. It could also be named after the mulberry plant, also referred to in Japanese as a kuwa (though which has a different kanji symbol).
  • Prior to the _Integration update, only the NSX-A Kuwa variant of this weapon was available, and it was unlocked upon completion of the Master Assault Weapons directive—thus making it available solely to Nanite Systems Operatives.

History[]

  • April 25, 2019 Update (A New Soldier)
    • NSX-A Kuwa added to the game.
  • May 30, 2019 Update (Combat Intensifies)
    • NSX-A Kuwa max damage from 167 to 150
  • July 1, 2021 Update (_Integration)
    • NSO has also received new Directive Weapons available in all-new weapon directive trees, as well as rocket launcher offerings. Previous NSX-A weaponry will remain as legacy items for pre-existing NSO characters that were able to unlock them, and new non-auraxium NSX versions of these weapons have made their way to the Black Market.
    • NSX Kuwa added to the game.
  • March 30, 2022 Update (The Arsenal Update)
    • All Black Market weapons are now purchasable with Daybreak Cash, as an alternative to the normal A7 currency costs.
