Note: | Was available to NSO upon completion of the Master Assault Weapons directive, pre _Integration update. |
The NSX Kuwa is a hybrid rifle produced by Nanite Systems, available to all factions. It is unlocked through purchase with A7 from the Black Market aboard Sanctuary.
The Nanite Systems Export Kuwa is a variant of the NSX Yumi, sharing the same design philosophy. Though inheriting the same lengthy windup upon trigger pull, the Kuwa trades the rapid high damage bursts for a slightly less lethal but fully automatic torrent of bullets, with decreased potency at range.
The NSX Kuwa is currently the only hybrid rifle available to players, a unique assault rifle class that is additionally available to Engineers and Heavy Assaults by default, rather than solely locked to the use of Combat Medics.
Attachments[]
NSX Kuwa: Unlike most weaponry purchased with A7, the NSX Kuwa's attachments are purchased with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash like regular guns.

Trivia[]
- The NSX Kuwa is likely named after a Japanese weapon that is loosely based on a hoe—a kuwa. It could also be named after the mulberry plant, also referred to in Japanese as a kuwa (though which has a different kanji symbol).
- Prior to the _Integration update, only the NSX-A Kuwa variant of this weapon was available, and it was unlocked upon completion of the Master Assault Weapons directive—thus making it available solely to Nanite Systems Operatives.
History[]
- April 25, 2019 Update (A New Soldier)
- NSX-A Kuwa added to the game.
- May 30, 2019 Update (Combat Intensifies)
- NSX-A Kuwa max damage from 167 to 150
- July 1, 2021 Update (_Integration)
- NSO has also received new Directive Weapons available in all-new weapon directive trees, as well as rocket launcher offerings. Previous NSX-A weaponry will remain as legacy items for pre-existing NSO characters that were able to unlock them, and new non-auraxium NSX versions of these weapons have made their way to the Black Market.
- NSX Kuwa added to the game.
- March 30, 2022 Update (The Arsenal Update)
- All Black Market weapons are now purchasable with Daybreak Cash, as an alternative to the normal A7 currency costs.
