The Naginata light machine gun can maintain rounds on medium ranged targets without releasing the trigger, but quickly loses that benefit while moving.

The Nanite Systems Export Naginata is a relatively tame light machine gun with two distinguishing factors; it has a maximum damage of 150, higher than the typical 143, and the weapon's cone-of-fire is capped whenever the user is standing still. Though the Naginata may deal less damage-per-second than a fair number of its contemporaries, this makes the gun surprisingly accurate even through large bursts.
While the user is stood still, the weapon's cone-of-fire is capped at 0.6 degrees, with it capping even lower at 0.4 degrees while the user is crouched. This benefit can be retroactively applied mid-burst, meaning the user can stand still after the weapon's cone-of-fire exceeds 0.6 degrees to instantly bring the cone-of-fire back down to that.
Many of its statistics resemble that of the XMG-155, particularly the extended 7 shot kill range afforded by the 150 minimum damage value. Broadly similar, the Naginata has a sloppier hipfire and has initial aimed cone of fire values that are twice as loose as the 155, but also has a 10% advantage in fire rate and a reload that puts the 155 to shame. This is in addition to the maximum cone of fire cap unique to the Naginata, but not to LMGs as a whole.
TheT16 Rhino, EM1, and VX29 Polaris also feature a similar mechanic in addition to their rate of fire and practical shots-to-kill being almost identical. On the those three LMGs, each has a muzzle velocity that's at least 135 meters per second faster by default and can retain that cone of fire cap while moving. Their disadvantage is that the cap placed on their aimed cone of fire is 1.2 degrees: 2 or 3 times less precise than a Naginata when stationary.
These advantages put the Naginata into a strange position of being a quicker killer in close quarters - but not as accurately as the Nanite Systems Operative alternative - and being more accurate in sustained fire than any of the other factions' LMGs at range - but lacking the muzzle velocity that lets the VS, NC, and TR options lead moving targets with relative ease.
True to many of Nanite Systems' offerings available to all factions, it has an unusual magazine capacity, paradoxical statistics, and the potential to be a top-tier weapon in skilled hands.
Many soldiers choose Nanite Systems' popular Illuminated Combat Optic series over stock iron sights for superior target acquisition in both close quarters and low-light situations. More reticles for this sight available, see full article.
Nanite Systems' laser-assisted gunsight is perfect for situations that need a little more range than a standard reflex scope. The LANS uses a simple red dot reticule with 3.4x magnification.
For marksmen that prefer to not put themselves directly in the fray, the Nanite Systems Quadra scope allows users distance between themselves and their intended targets. The Quadra comes equipped with a simple crosshair at 4x magnification.
Nanite Systems' Tetra scope gives its users a significant advantage at target acquisition at mid to long ranges thanks to its triple chevron reticule and 4x magnification.
A compensator redirects gases upward, reducing vertical recoil by 30%, and increasing hipfire cone of fire by 15%. The added sound pressure causes the player to show on the minimap 35m farther away.
The rail mounted Darklight Flashlight can illuminate hostile cloaked infiltrators and dark areas but the light can give away your position. The light can be turned on and off with Toggle Attachment hotkey.
High Velocity Ammunition increases the weapon's projectile velocity by 10% and minimum damage range by 20 meters, but reduces the weapon's maximum damage range by 2 meters.
It is possible to get both Ribbons and Medals for using the NSX Naginata. Each Ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the NSX Naginata. Medals relate to how many overall kills you have with the NSX Naginata.
Dev Note: The adjustment to vertical recoil here increases accuracy of both first shot and sustained fire, and makes the recoil easier to compensate for.
