Nanite Auto Repair System is a defense slot upgrade available to all vehicles except the Sunderer . It is auto granted at rank 1 for most vehicles and otherwise unlocked and upgraded using Certification Points , and unlocked and upgraded using Merit ( ) for the Colossus .
While attached, a nanite auto repair system will automatically repair the vehicle at the listed rate, so long as they have incurred no direct health damage for the listed duration. Most vehicles will incur a 12 second penalty after taking damage, although empire specific fighters enjoy a shorter delay of 8 seconds.
Receiving any amount of damage at any time will immediately reset the timer, although damage to external shielding like the bombardment shield projected by Deployment: Skylance Battery will not interrupt repair. The vehicle owner will not receive any XP for repairs performed by the system.
Engineers additionally have access to Aircraft Synergy , a passive certification that can potentially repair all aircraft at a rate equal to rank one of the vehicle's respective auto repair system. Aircraft Synergy stacks with Nanite Auto Repair System, increasing the rate at which the vehicle is repaired further.
This module can activate at all times, even if the vehicle is unoccupied.
