Ordnance Armor is a suit slot enhancement available to the MAX. It is auto granted at rank 1, and is upgraded using Certification Points.

While equipped, Ordnance Armor reduces damage taken from several damage types. These categories are as follows; Common Explosive, Infantry Rocket Launchers, Tank Mines plus Heavy Explosives, Tank Shells, and Light Anti-Vehicle plus Air to Ground Warheads. Each rank adds another category in turn to the bonus, starting with common explosive at rank 1, and ending with light anti-vehicle and air to ground warheads at rank 5.

Using one of the listed damage types to attack a MAX with Ordnance Armor equipped will display a small icon (left) near the crosshair, indicating the target has received reduced damage.

Ordnance Armor will reduce all damage received from the relevant damage types, including from headshots, however it does not stack with any other damage resistance buffs and in these cases only the highest source of damage reduction will be used. For weapons that deal direct and splash damage, only damage of a listed type will be resisted, and only by the amount specified.

History[]

March 29, 2023 Update (MAX rebalance, New Abilities, Server Perf)

  • Ordnance Armor now properly reduces damage from Infantry Lock-on (type 68) by 20%. This was previously 0% for Infantry Lock-on and 40% for Infantry Rocket Launchers (resist type 34.)

November 17, 2022 Update (10-Year Anniversary)

  • Abilities that modify damage from "Infantry Rocket Launchers" also modify this damage resistance (eg. Flak Armor, Flanker Armor)
    • Editors note: The resistance to Infantry Lock-on was intended to be added at this time. However, it instead erroneously increased the Infantry Rocket Launchers resist by an additional 20% (to a total of 40% resistance). It was corrected in the March 29, 2023 Update to reduce both resistances by 20%, as expected.

October 19, 2017 Update

  • Description was listing the wrong resistances at the wrong ranks.
  • Updated description as follows...

    • Rank 2: Reduces damage taken from frag grenades and common explosions by 50%, and infantry rockets by 20%.

    • Rank 5: Reduces damage taken from frag grenades, common explosions, Tank Mines, and C4 by 50%; and infantry rockets, tank shells, air to ground warheads, and light anti-vehicle by 20%.
