Outpost

Outposts comprise the vast majority of facilities across Auraxis. As with all other facilities, they are fought over by the empires in the war for dominion over the continents.

There are four different types of outpost—outposts, large outposts, construction outposts and seapost. Each type of outpost varies on its number of control points, typical design philosophy, and overall capture time, and they are denoted on the map with different icons.

Unlike major facilities, no two outposts—even of the same type—are the same. Each features a unique design when compared to other facilities, even where they may use the same template (such as in the case of Hossin's construction sites, or the Tower prefab commonly used throughout Auraxis), keeping the battle for Auraxis varied.

Outposts[]

Outposts sometimes called small Outposts are the most common type of facility on Auraxis.

Outposts are an incredibly varied type of facility. They typically only include a small number of amenities, being unable to spawn main battle tanks, often lacking aircraft terminals and landing pads, feature only a single control point and sometimes include only a single spawn room with no alternate exits or teleporters.

Outposts with lattices directly connected to a Bio Lab feature a jump pad and a teleporter, with an accompanying generator, leading to the parent Bio Lab.

Large Outposts[]

Large Outposts are the next step up from the regular outpost, located more sparingly in strategic locations. The ones in the middle of a continent are designated as a continent's extremely valuable facility, such as in the case of The Ascent, The Crown, and Nason's Defiance and are fiercely fought over, as their ownership grants the most valuable Outfit resource as well as 10 additional empire strength for the purposes of Continent Locking.

Large outposts are designed to be considerably more defensible than the typical outpost. With an increased number of control points and expanded amenities, they are often much harder to capture than outposts while being much more valuable to defenders as vehicle spawns, resupply locations, and choke-points against strong enemy forces.

Construction Outposts[]

Construction Outposts are a unique outpost variant featuring typically 1 vehicle capture point under open sky, a few on Esamir having three points inside buildings. Construction Outposts have significantly reduced capture times, making empty construction Outpost a vulnerability to the owners latices lines, many 1 point construction outposts can be captured after only a minute, and can be done without even exiting a vehicle/aircraft.

Construction outposts are, as their name implies, built to function around the Construction System. They are almost always devoid of all amenities, but also do not feature any no-deploy zones—allowing the free deployment of AMS vehicles and constructs anywhere in the region, forcing players to employ both to bring the outpost's amenities closer to that of a typical facility.

Seapost[]

Icon Seapost

Seaposts are a unique outpost variant. They are only located on the continent of Oshur and are almost entirely based upon a floating platform in the sea, with a small bunker-like second spawn room, accessible by a teleporter, underneath the water. The portion above the water features terminals for both water vehicles and aircraft, as well as a resupply platform for aircraft.

There are two types of seapost.

  • Surface seaposts feature a single capture point on a buoy some distance away from the seapost platform. These capture points may be captured by vehicles. Infantry are also capable of contesting these points if they can get to them.
  • Underwater seaposts feature a single capture point located underwater some distance away from both spawn rooms, usually surrounded by coral reefs or man-made ruins.

Most seaposts that have a title after their grid designation, (e.g. Seapost L8 - Cliffdive) have underwater capture points, while those that have no title are surface seaposts. The only exception to this is Seapost K12.

There is one special seapost, namely Bathala Garden, which does not have any spawn room, and awards Synthium instead.

Resources[]

Capturing and holding Outposts gives the owning outfit, the one with the majority of players nearby upon capture, resources to their Armory.
