Reinforced Top Armor was a defense slot upgrade available to main battle tanks and the Lightning. It was unlocked through purchase with Certification Points.
Before the Combined Arms Initiative, tanks would take significantly more damage if hit by a target that was located above the vehicle. With the update, tank defenses were changed to be more focused on raw health, rather than resistances, and any defense slot upgrades that affect resistances were removed or rebalanced.
Within this update, directional armour buffs such as Reinforced Top Armor and Reinforced Side Armor were removed, and replaced with Flanker Armor. All certification points spent on this module were refunded.
