The Shield Recharging Field is a deployable ability available to the Combat Medic. It is unlocked and upgraded using Certification Points.
When deployed, a shield recharging field will emit a faction-colored field around it, regenerating the shields of all allied players within the listed distance. Players within the field will constantly have their shield slowly recharged, even if they are under fire. This recharging can stack with natural shield recharge to restore shielding even faster.
Recharging fields last for 5 minutes before expiring naturally, although can be destroyed by most types of fire and are highly vulnerable to EMP Grenades. A single player can only place one field at a time, with a six second cooldown after placing one before a second can be placed, of which doing so will destroy the first.
To use this deployable, equip it with the appropriate Gear Slot or the Use Ability hotkey (F by default), and then place it using the Fire hotkey ( by default) when the indicator is green.
Effects[]
When an allied player steps into the listed range of a Shield Recharging field, they begin to have their shielding constantly recharged. The amount varies between 42.5 shielding per second and 50 shielding per second.
Level | Range (meters) | Shield Restoration |
1 | 4.5 | 42.5 per second |
2 | 5 | 45 per second |
3 | 5.5 | 47.5 per second |
4 | 6 | 50 per second |
5 | 7 | 50 per second |
Values are approximate, and may be off by .5 shielding per second in either direction.
A player can only have their shielding recharged by a single field at one time. If a player is in the radius of two separate fields, their shields are recharged by the highest ranked field, if applicable, otherwise by the field whose radius they entered first.
Receiving damage will not, in any way, affect the field's shield recharge effect. Players will receive the same amount of shielding per second at all times, so long as they remain within the field's radius.
Dead players do not have their shielding recharged by the field, although will immediately enjoy its benefits upon accepting a revive should they be in range of a field when they do so.
Related Implants[]
Shield Recharging Field has its effectiveness improved slightly by the following implant, which names an interaction with it directly.
Mending Field[]
Mending Field is a Combat Medic-specific implant that causes the user to automatically heal any allies within 7 meters who are below the listed health for 15 health per second.
This implant's effects will benefit the user themselves at all times, at the same speed and with the same listed restrictions.
At rank 5, the benefit is also available to allies from the user's Shield Recharging Field, at the same potency.
