Splitbolt are an ammo type available to the Seeker HLX. They are unlocked through purchase with Certification Points or Daybreak Cash.
When in use, this ammo type splits the single bolts fired by the crossbow into three 'shard' pellets, each dealing 40% of the damage the single bolt deals—for a maximum damage of 240 and minimum of 180 per shard. In addition, this ammo type removes the leg damage penalty from the crossbow, causing hits to the leg to deal full damage rather than 90% damage.
These bolts reduce the headshot multiplier of the weapon from 1.5x to 1.25x, preventing this bolt type from dealing any more damage on headshot than other bolts.
The pellet spread of the shards tends towards a horizontal line, although is still random. Aiming tightens the spread significantly, causing the shards to more reliably form that horizontal line. Lightweight Arms have no effect on the pellet spread while firing from the hip—only the cone-of-fire.
