T9A "Butcher"
The Butcher gained its reputation as a fearsome weapon capable of unending, long-range suppressive fire following a series of extended engagements at The Crown. Built on the CARV platform, the Butcher's notoriety has been earned over time in blood.

The T9A "Butcher" is a light machine gun available to the Terran Republic. It is unlocked upon completion of the Master Light Machine Guns directive.

The T9A "Butcher" is an 'auraxium' variant of the T9 CARV, sharing most of the same base stats and decorated with a special 'auraxium' camo. Compared to the base weapon, the Butcher fires 19 RPM faster and also has a 50% larger base magazine. In exchange, the Butcher has a 50ms longer equip time and loses 30 m/s in bullet velocity.

It is possible to earn both Ribbons and Medals while using the T9A "Butcher". Each ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with the machine gun. Medals are awarded upon reaching kill milestones with the weapon.

  • February 2, 2017 Update
    • Dev Note: We wanted to enable the 400 round magazine that was previously on PTS, but there is a bug barring a proper implementation at the moment. We'll look to changing this in the future, but in the meantime, the Butcher has received a minor rate of fire increase alongside the removal of the spinup mechanic.
    • Damage from 143@10m-125@65m to 143@10m-112@65m
    • Removed spinup mechanic.
    • Refire rate from 80ms to 78ms
    • Min damage from 125 to 112
    • Equip time from 1250ms to 1300ms
  • September 15, 2021 Update (A New Player Experience)
    • Projectile velocity from hipfire is now in line with its projectile velocity while aiming at 570.
  • March 30, 2022 Update (The Arsenal Update)
    • Ammo capacity from 450 to 600.
    • Removed integrated Laser Sight.
    • Dev Note: Extended magazines doubles the weapon's ammo, giving it the largest LMG magazine size in the game. This is also the only high rate of fire LMG to have access to KCAP ammunition, among other options.
