The Valkyrie is a fast attack/transport aircraft produced by Nanite Systems, available to all factions as a part of the Common Pool.
The Valkyrie is a light transport/gunship hybrid. It is noticably cheaper, faster, and more manoeuvrable than the Galaxy dropship, with access to a single powerful nose cannon, although this comes at the cost of transport capacity—with a total of only six seats down from the Galaxy's twelve—and considerably less durability, with less than half the health pool and reduced resistances, and a lack of supportive defense slot upgrades.
Unlike the Galaxy, the Valkyrie's passenger seats are rumble seats, exposing passengers to damage but allowing them to use their own weapons and equipment as normal. Players occupying rumble seats cannot use Nano-Armor Kits to repair the aircraft. The belly of the Valkyrie is armored, causing damage received from targets located below the aircraft to be reduced by 50%.
This vehicle has access to squad logistics, allowing members of the squad of any occupant to spawn into the vehicle. It also features a built-in Ejection System, nullifying the velocity of any occupants who eject from the vehicle and temporarily immunizing them to fall damage.
Auto GrantedActivate to repair 15% of the vehicle health over 5 seconds. If the vehicle is on fire when activated, it will also immediately extinguish the flames. Can be activated once every 55 seconds.
100Activate to repair 15% of the vehicle health over 5 seconds. If the vehicle is on fire when activated, it will also immediately extinguish the flames. Can be activated once every 50 seconds.
200Activate to repair 15% of the vehicle health over 5 seconds. If the vehicle is on fire when activated, it will also immediately extinguish the flames. Can be activated once every 47 seconds.
500Activate to repair 15% of the vehicle health over 5 seconds. If the vehicle is on fire when activated, it will also immediately extinguish the flames. Can be activated once every 45 seconds.
30Increases lock-on time by 0.25 seconds, reduces the auto-detect range of the vehicle to 174 metres, and reduces detection from enemy Engagement Radars by 150 meters.
100Increases lock-on time by 0.5 seconds, reduces the auto-detect range of the vehicle to 116 metres, and reduces detection from enemy Engagement Radars by 250 meters.
200Increases lock-on time by 0.75 seconds, reduces the auto-detect range of the vehicle to 58 metres, and reduces detection from enemy Engagement Radars by 350 meters.
1000Increases lock-on time by 1 seconds, completely prevents the vehicle from being auto-detected, and reduces detection from enemy Engagement Radars by 450 meters.
With any Valkyrie weapon, it is possible to get both Ribbons and Medals. Each Ribbon is a standard reward for achieving a set amount of kills with a Valkyrie weapon. Medals relate to how many overall kills you have with the Valkyries weaponry.
The Valkyrie has access to five separate cosmetic customization slots, each modifying a different part of the vehicle.
Alongside the expected ability to add Camouflage and Decals, the player can modify the cockpit glass, attach extra plating to the exterior, and add a trim effect to the airframe.
Though not necessarily defined as a cosmetic, the sound of the Valkyrie's in-built horn can also be changed.
A new NS vehicle is now available at standard aircraft terminals, the Valkyrie!
The Valkyrie is a six person aircraft used for close air support and transportation. It is crewed by a pilot and a forward gunner with room for four additional rumble seat passengers. These passengers sit in open seats on the side of the Valkyrie which allows them to use their personal equipment while in flight.
Valkyrie resistance to ESF nose cannons provided by composite armor is being made base line. Composite armor will no longer provide a bonus resistance against ESF nose cannons
Base resistance to ESF nose cannons increased from 85 to 90%
Composite armor no longer provides a bonus.
Resistance to HEAT and AP is also being adjusted. These adjustments make the Valkyrie a little more resilient, similar to a Liberator
Dev Note: Some A2G warhead resistance (type 23) values were skewed from where they were intended to be. The following changes will increase the durability of the listed vehicles against Hornets, Zephyr, and Dalton weapons.
Dev Note: Coupled with the reduced Dalton damage, this changes Dalton from 2 shots to kill to 2 shots to crit and 3 shots to kill; Zephyr from 4 shots to kill to 5 shots to crit and 6 to kill; and Hornets from 4 shots to kill to 5 to crit and 6 to kill.
Resist type 8 (Aircraft Nosegun) from 75 to 80
Dev Note: This change slightly lengthens the time to kill against Valkyries with noseguns alone, providing a bit more survivability.
Resistance type 12 (Flak Explosive) from -126 to -100
Dev Note: Valkyrie is the vehicle most prone to keeping its belly armor facing a damage source, and most likely to break line of sight with threats due to the vehicle's agility. Even so, we wanted to give the vehicle a bit more breathing room in those close situations.
Dev Note: The last adjustment to the Valkyrie's small arms resistance reduced the effectiveness of the vehicle as a combat platform, but hit the Valkyrie harder than we'd have liked. We're going to more conservative numbers and can continue to tune as necessary.
Repairing from the rumble seat has been removed for all vehicles.
Dev Note: We've removed rumble seat repairs to create clearer, more predictable vehicle balance. A lack of rumble-seat repairs should weaken the Harasser's ability to escape to a small degree, and slow down the pacing for this vehicle. The vehicle most impacted by this change will likely be the Valkyrie, as it will need to fly closer to the ground instead of being as brazen in the air. We've compensated to a small degree by allowing the Valkyrie to use the Engineer's Aircraft Synergy passive, but we'll be monitoring to see if additional changes are necessary to keep the Valkyrie relevant and fun.
Changes below help move the Valkyrie a bit further away from piñata territory by increasing its overall movement capabilities and its anti-vehicle effectiveness with non-VLG weaponry.
