Weapon Trials allow players to temporarily access infantry and vehicle weapons they do not otherwise have access to for free, providing them the opportunity to test weapons without needing to commit to a purchase.
A weapon trial lasts 30 minutes after being initialized, counting down in real time, and players must incur an 8 hour cooldown between trial periods. The same weapon cannot be trialed twice within a 30-day period, and only weapons available for direct purchase with Certification Points can be trialed under this system, with exception to Havoc Missiles. Otherwise, weapons and equipment only available for purchase with A7, Merit, or Daybreak Cash are not available for trial.
Trialed weapons do not include any attachments, however they can nonetheless be purchased and used if desired. Attachments purchased for unowned weapons will not be lost when the trial ends, though will be unavailable until the player comes into possession of the weapon again.

To trial a weapon, navigate to it in the depot or loadout screen and click Unlock. If the weapon is eligible, a blue bar will appear at the bottom of the screen stating that the item is available for trial, and pressing Try Now will instantly begin the weapon trial. The remaining duration on a trial of a given weapon can be viewed by returning to the weapon in the depot or loadout screen.
For an unknown reason the weapon trial system does not function properly while the player is dead, as trials cannot be started. To start a weapon trial, the player must be alive in the world.
